The Meet in Tasmania Incentive Scheme
The Meet in Tasmania Incentive (MITI) provides qualifying organisations with a cash payment per international/interstate delegate for selected business events that hold their event in Tasmania.
Applications for funding are assessed on a case by case basis. The key criteria include the events ability to be hosted in off-peak/low occupancy periods (in particular the winter and shoulder months), potential to deliver dispersal into the regional areas of Tasmania and the potential overall social and economic benefits to the state.
Business events with less than 500 delegates may be eligible for $20/delegate up to a maximum of $10,000. Business events with more than 500 delegates may be eligible for $20/delegate up to a maximum of $15,000. There may also be occasions where funding of up to $10,000 is available to remove barriers which inhibit an event hosting in Tasmania.
