Business Events Tasmania Poised to Serve the Chinese Market

10-May-2012 | With China the fastest growing inbound market for Australia, Business Events Tasmania is set to service the needs of Chinese speaking business event organisers.

Business Events Tasmania’s Corporate and Incentive Brochure (released in February at AIME) has now been translated into Chinese to coincide with the visit of seven key business events planners and a journalist from CEO Capital magazine from Hong Kong. Business Events Tasmania in conjunction with Business Events Australia will be hosting this famil which will provide a taste of Tasmania as a business event destination.

Business Events Tasmania also works closely with Tourism Tasmania’s representatives in Hong Kong & China. Tasmania’s exports in the areas of food, produce and wine as well as the involvement of other core Tasmanian industries in this market provides potential for the business events to be held in the state.

The Mercure Hobart is also paving the way for the hotel to attract business events from China, with the translation of hotel welcome kits, business cards, restaurant and room service menus in Mandarin. Chinese dishes and snacks including green tea, noodles as well as up to six Chinese meals will be available.

"Tasmania is an emerging market for the Chinese business event visitor. With the destinations natural attributes, abundant seafood, quality produce and wines, friendly locals and high standards of service, we believe we can increase business event visitor numbers substantially over the next five years," said Stuart Nettlefold, CEO Business Events Tasmania.
