13-Apr-2012 | Six business event organisers who had never been to Launceston were treated to a 36 hour taste of the town. Business Events Tasmania has invented a new concept of "Speed Famils" in response to PCO requests that they can't be out of the office for long.
Business Events Tasmania showcased a number of conference, accommodation, offsite venues and other service providers that Launceston has to offer; and it certainly impressed.Clients were aware that their famil was just a small part of what Launceston offers for business event organisers; nonetheless they were inspired by "Launceston's close proximity, abundance of options with a short distance and large country town feel" (Susan Bertalmio, Conference Traveller).
The high standard of food and wine, and the friendliness of the people were noted by all clients. Launceston exceeded their expectations with some speaking of possible events for the future.
