Tasmania's Wins for 2011-12
24-Jul-2012 | In 2011/12 the Business Events Tasmania sales team researched, prepared and submitted 145 bids to win business events for Tasmania.
Of the bids submitted to clients, 65 were for association conferences, 67 were for corporate meeting and incentive events, 12 were for government events and one education event.Of the 145 bids submitted, Tasmania has so far been successful in winning 74 business events. These include 48 association conferences, 19 corporate meeting and incentive events, 6 government events and one education event. Conversion in the association area was the highest with 65% of bid wins coming from this market.
The value of the bid wins for Tasmania's economy is $22,608,907... nearly $23M. This represents 14,193 delegates and 36,823 room nights.
In addition to the bids won, there are still 70 bids with a decision pending valued at nearly $30M.
Business Events Tasmania have hosted and organised 46 site inspections and 5 familiarisations and attended 16 in-market events promoting/showcasing Business Events Tasmania members and the state.
July 2012 has started well for bid activity and we look forward to working with the industry to achieve some good outcomes for the 12-13 financial year.
